AMY A.(ARCHER) CARPENTER

LANSING - Amy A.(Archer) Carpenter, 101, died Aug. 6 at Mary Ave.Care Center in 
Lansing.

She was born Sept. 24, 1885, in Ada, the daughter of George Walker Archer and 
Mary Arabel (Filkins) Parker.

She was a member of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

She grew up and raised her family in the Lake Odessa area, except for a few 
years when she lived in Morley.

She married Frank Gleason on Jan. 1, 1903; he preceded her in  death. She 
married Bert Carpenter on Sept 1, 1934, in Goshen,Ind. They resided in Grand 
Rapids. He preceded her in death in 1971.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Alice Archer of Clarksville; one son-in-
law, Cari Carlstrom of Muskegon; one grandson, Richard Carlstrom of Trenton.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben Archer of Flint in 1974 and Dan 
Archer of Lake Odessa in 1975; and her daughter, Edythe Carlstrom of Muskegon in 
1962.
