Hasting's Reminder - Saturday October 11, 2025

GEORGE CARPENTER, age 93, of Lake Odessa,MI. passed away on October 4, 2025, 
reuniting with his beloved wife of over 61 years. A devoted husband and father, 
George prioritized his family, leaving behind a legacy of six children, 13 
grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Born on June 11, 1932, in Wayne,MI. to Nellie & Albert Carpenter. George married 
his sweetheart, Kathleen, on January 30, 1954. He is survived by four children; 
Henry (Donna), Mary (Ken) Aho, Linda Rogers & Ronald (Candy).

He joins his wife Kathleen, son, Edward, and daughter, Marlene Inglis in eternal 
rest.

A dedicated farmer with an unwavering work ethic, George raised dairy cows, 
pigs, chickens, & later, rabbits, sharing this passion with his descendants. He 
was active in the ARBA & MSRBA, achieving Master Breeder status with New Zealand 
Whites & Florida Whites.

George also worked for the Wayne County Road Commission as a mechanic and later 
as foreman, retiring in 1982. Post-retirement, he enjoyed delivering trucks, 
driving a wrecker, and delivering flowers. He was involved in Michigan Farm 
Bureau, Wayne County 4-H, and his churches in Romulus & Lake Odessa, and served 
as superintendent of the poultry barn at the Michigan State Fair for 29 years.

In his later years, George found a new family at Hope Landin in Charlotte, where 
he received loving care & companionship.

Funeral services were held at Central United Methodist Church on October 8, 
2025, followed by burial at West Sebewa Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Central United Methodist 
Church.

Arrangements made by Koops Funeral Chapel.
