She was born June 4, 1864, in Germany, and came to the United States at the age of two. In 1882 she was married to William Carpenter in Bryan, Ohio, and the couple had made their home in Evergreen township, near Stanton, for 31 years. Mr. Carpenter died in 1938 and for six years Mrs. Carpenters had lived with her daughter. She is survived by two daughters, Mr. Howard Denman of near Saranac and Mrs. Lena Granger of Fenwick; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother, John Rubel, and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Eagle of Bryan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Stebbins funeral home at Sheridan. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
