Benjamin Carpenter, aged 74, died at his residence near Higbee in Orleans on 
Saturday.  The funeral was held from the residence at 1 o’clock (fast time) on 
Tuesday afternoon.  Interment in Higbee cemetery.

Benjamin Carpenter, son-in-law of B. F. Higbee, who died some two years or 
more ago, and who resided on the old homestead, died suddenly early Saturday 
evening, of heart failure.  The funeral was held at the residence on Tuesday 
at 1 p.m.  The service was conducted by Rev. E. E. Branch of Ionia.  He was 74 
years of age, and leaves a wife and four children, all married, who were 
present at the funeral.
