Ionia County News, 31 Oct 1940

Burr Carr, 55, passed away quite suddenly early Saturday morning, having been 
in ill health only a short time.  He was a prominent Keene township farmer 
having been born there November 20, 1886, and lived all his life in this 
locality.

He was married to Miss Maggie Ford of Vergennes township and two children, 
Mildred of Grand Rapids and Esther of Miami, Florida, were born to them who 
with their mother survive him.

He was the son of Daniel Carr who passed away a few years ago at Burr’s home.  
A brother, Hugh Carr and a sister Mrs. Etna Conner of West Keene also survive.

Funeral services were held at the farm home Tuesday at two o’clock with Rev. J. 
W. Winger officiating.  Burial was in Vergennes cemetery.

Mrs. Nellie Witt spent several days with her friend Mrs. Burr Carr in Keene the 
past week.  The Carrs were moving from their old home to their other farm home 
the late Daniel Carr place when Mr. Carr was stricken with a fatal heart attack 
and the funeral services were held in the new home.  Mrs. Witt helped Mrs. Carr 
to get the house settled before the funeral.
