Ionia Daily Sentinel – 28 January 1963
Funeral service was held Monday at 2 pm at Leonard funeral home in Hastings 
for Mrs. Lillian May Carr, 53, of route two Woodland, who died at 12:30 am 
Saturday enroute to Pennock hospital.  She was born April 26, 1909 in 
Kalkaska, the daughter of Daniel and Lillian Daly Burton, and came to Ionia as 
a small girl.  She graduated from Ionia High School.

June 20, 1929 she was married to Gaylord Carr and lived at Lake Odessa before 
moving to Woodland area.  They had lived at 1070 Martin road the past 20 
years.  Survivors include her husband, Gaylord; a son, Jerry of Hastings; a 
daughter, Sharon Elaine at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Burton of 
Kalamazoo; two grandsons; one brother, Earl Burton of Battle Creek; and two 
sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Taylor of Bangor, and Mrs. Thelma Carpenter of Camp 
Point, Ill.  Burial was at Lakeside Cemetery.
