Week ago last Monday morning while Mrs.Thomas Carrel of Clarksville was picking cherries in the cool of the morning she stepped on a decayed limb and immediately the limb broke and she fell about twenty feet, striking on her feet. A broken leg and internal injuries was the result. The leg was set and everything done for her that was possible but the internal injuries proved fatal and she died Friday evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral was held at her home conducted by the Lady Maccabees. The services consisting of talks and the regular burial service of the order and interment was made in Clarksville cemetery. Mrs.Carrel was born in Litchfield in 1858 and was forty nine years old.She with her husband lived in Dorr for some time he being in the Grain Elevator and Implement business there, later they moved to Caledonia and then to Clarksville. The deceased leaves three children, Mrs.Simon Clemons of Caledonia, Arthur of Grand Rapids and Miss Ethel at home. She was also a cousin of Mrs.T.J. Justice of this place.
