He was born Oct. 11, 1939 in Vestaburg the son of Frank B. and Mildred M. (Holly) Carrick. He married Mary Tavenner on Feb. 14, 1992. Gordon was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Saranac American Legion. He loved to hunt and fish and was a life member of the North American Hunting and North American Fishing Clubs. Gordon is survived by his wife, Mary Carrick of Saranac; children Teresa (Vince) Bennett of Greenville, Kim Carrick of Greenville, Phillip (Dorothy) Carrick of Mecosta, Fred (Jennifer) Brickley of Fine Lake, Toni Frazer and Bernie Bibbler of Saranac and Scot (Darla) Minard of Saranac; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Russell, Melvin, Darrell, Ken and Ernie; and sisters, Emma, Ula, Vanessa and Linda. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ed Minard; and one brother, Richard. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Greg Gladding officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
