October 16, 1883 he was united in marriage to Sarah E. Cooper. To this union were born five children, four preceding him to the beyond. His wife, his daughter, Mrs. Emma Miller of Lake Odessa, one brother, Joe Carrier of Barbarton, O., two sisters, Jennie McCune of Barbarton, O., and Mrs. Shellman of Lake Odessa, and one grandchild, Goldie Miller are left to mourn. In 1903 he moved to DeCalb Co., Indiana. In 1906 he moved to Manistee , Michigan. After three years he moved to Barbarton, O. to care for his aged father who died in July 1910. In 1911 he moved to Lake Odessa where he remained thirteen years, then moved to Berlin township, where he died. He accepted Christ as his savior in youth and united with the Christian church. He found a great source of strength from the Apostle Paul in IICor. 5, 1,3. "For we know that if our earthly house were dissolved we have a building of God, a house to made with hands, entered in the Heavens." His sayings were "Jesus has a better place for me than this." Everything is made right," "I see the water on the other side of the river."
