Ionia Sentinel Standard, 12 Jun 1944

James Carroll, 65, of 312 ˝ West Main street, died Monday morning at 8:10 
o’clock in his home after an illness for the past eight years.  He was born 
October 1, 1878 in Tipperary, Ireland and was the son of Timothy and Katherine 
Carroll.

He moved with his parents to the United States at the age of eight months and 
spent his boyhood in Hubbardston.  He was married July 7, 1914, to Iva Myers of 
Barryton and the couple made their home on a farm for several years, later 
moving to Belding where Mr. Carroll was employed for 12 years.  The couple 
moved to Ionia in 1937 and had resided here since.

His only survivor is his wife, Iva. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Stone 
funeral home.  Rev. C. A. Brady, pastor of the Church of Christ will officiate 
and burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
