Carroll, 74, of Lyons township died at his home Thursday morning at 2 o’clock after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Bloomer township in Montcalm County, September 27, 1863, where he lived until he moved to his present home in Lyons township 20 years ago. On April 3, 1894 he was married to Miss Jennie Rich, daughter of a pioneer couple, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Rich, who came to this vicinity from New York state. Mr. Carroll was a former member of the Maccabees and his entire life was spent in farming. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Carroll; one step-daughter, Mrs. Louis Siegel of St. Johns; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Kilduff of Ionia, and Mrs. Howard Dick of Muir; three sons, Harry Carroll of Chicago, William Carroll of Ann Arbor, and Don Carroll at home; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, July 3 from the home north of Muir at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Interment will be at Bloomer cemetery.
