Lucille (Hawkins) Carroll of Portland, born March 9, 1917 in Vermontville to 
Ray and Hattie (Bale) Hawkins, passed away at her home on September 17, 2013 
at the age of 96.

She is survived by her daughter Kaye Lefke; grandsons Troy (Linda) Carroll, 
Todd and Chad Carroll; granddaughters, Tami (David) Harman and Shelli Lefke, 
; six great-grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter, and several 
nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; son James Carroll; daughter-
in-law Linda (Meyers) Carroll; and son-in-law, Dennis Lefke.

Lucille loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, 
and in her earlier years she enjoyed gardening, farming and operating an egg 
business. 

She donated her body to science through the MSU Willed Body Program.

The family will host a memorial luncheon at the Portland VFW Post 4090 on 
Sunday, September 22, at 2:00 p.m.
