He and another man were going with the engine from the Ginnebaugh farm to Redemsky’s and were on the hill on the Kelsey road just south of this city in the middle of the afternoon. Mr. Carrow started to go back to the bunk house, attached in the rear, which was somewhat above the level of the engine. He tried to jump from one to the other but miscalculated the distance and slipped under the wheels of the bunk house. He was dragged eight or ten rods before the engine could be stopped and he rescued. It was about five o’clock when he was brought here to the city hospital. He was unconscious from the moment when he was picked up. Several ribs were broken and he was suffering internal hemorrhages. Everything possible was done for him, but the case seemed hopeless from the start. At half-past nine operation was attempted as a last resort, but it only confirmed the fears. The internal injuries were very severe. He died at a quarter past eleven. Mr. Carrow was thirty years old. He leaves a father, three sisters and a brother. The brother, Will Carrow of Reed City, and one sister, Miss Lillian Carrow of Portland, are here. The father, Wm. Carrow of Wayne, is expected here to attend the funeral. The deceased has worked in the vicinity all his life and is well known. The funeral was at the home of Herbert Martin, Bagley street, at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.
