Carten, who died at his home on East Main street Wednesday morning following an illness extending over several months, will be held Friday morning at 9 o’clock at the church of SS. Peter and Paul. The active pallbearers will be Mayor Fred A. Chapman, Wallace H. Hearsey, J. A. Holbrook, Lewis I. Hale, Edward F. Gallagher, and William G. Longe. The Honorary pallbearers will consist of Hon. Fred. W. Green, Dr. J. J. McCann, W. F. Soules, Frank Wirtz, Anthony Scully, Harry H. Gemuend, John Ikner, Harry H. Gemuend, Charles Longe, Fred Boylan, of Grand Rapids, Thomas Bigger, of Marshall, and Thomas Griffin, of Detroit. Members of the Knights of Columbus and B.P.O.E. will accompany the funeral procession from the Elks temple to the church. Burial will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Another Article: Thursday, June 2, 1927 Members of the Ionia lodge No. 548, B.P.O.E., will gather at the temple Friday morning at 8:15, where they will form in line to march to the church of SS. Peter and Paul to attend the funeral services of their departed brother, Thomas A. Carten, according to an announcement issued Thursday morning by Lawrence I. Hale, exalted ruler. Don F. Longe, grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, has also sent out a request to members of Ionia council No. 944 to assemble at the K of C hall at the same hour, and will join with the Elks in the line of march to the church.
