NORMAN CARTER, 89
Norman "Bud" Carter, age 89, of Middleton, passed away sunday July 1, 2018, at home
with family by his side.

Bud was born November 13, 1928, in Hubbardston, the son of Robert and Ethel (Bogart)
Carter. He married Juanita Whitman on June 8, 1976. Together they enjoyed singing
and making music, especially entertaining seniors for the last 20 years. Bud served his
country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bud worked as a tool and die man in Ionia
for many years. He was a 4 H and Boy Scout leader and gave so much more back to his
community. 

Bud enjoyed woodworking, gardening, baking, helping people and loved spending time
with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Laura (Lynn) Thayer, Robert (Marsha) Carter, Beth
(Jerry) Rutter, Jan Hotz, Loretta (Rick) Massey, Larry (Sherrie) Crosby, Valorie (Bruce)
Smith, Joseph (Robin) Ferris, Victoria (Brad) Solomon, Janice Hatfield, numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife Juanita, previous wife Alice, son
Randy Carter, grandson, Jamie Crosby, daughter-in-law, Connie Carter and sister Katherine
Miller.

A joint memorial gathering for Bud and Juanita will be held on Saturday September
22, 2018, starting at 1 p.m. with a celebration of life gathering following until 4 p.m.
all at the Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in New Haven Center Cemetery at a
later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice. Arrangements
have been entrusted to the care of the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City. To
