Lake Odessa Wave - June 2, 1960
        ROY CARTER PASSED AWAY FRIDAY
   Roy Carter, 75 of 3816 N. Cedar Lansing passed away Friday, May 20th at a rest
home after about a year's 
illness.  He retired 12 years ago after working at the Oldsmobile in Lansing for 18
years. He formerly lived at 
Lake Odessa where he operated a meat market and at one time a tire shop before
moving to Lansing.
   Mr. Carter was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church.  Surviving are his
wife, Margaret of Lansing; 
two daughters, Mrs. Maude Richardson of Laingsburg and Mrs. Helen Slocum of Lansing;
two sons Alton with 
the US Army in Germany and Donald of Phoenix, Arizona; and 12 grandchildren and 5
great grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 25th at the Goraline-Runciman funeral
home in Lansing with 
burial in the Lakeside cemetery, Lake Odessa.
