Rev. Elton Mills officiated at the funeral, and interment was made in South Boston cemetery. Mrs. Carter was born January 28, 1881, in Bohemia, Germany. She came to this country at the age of 3, when her parents, John and Caroline Kotesky, settled on the homestead in South Boston, where her brother, Ed, now lives. She has always lived in this area. In 1905 she married Jay Carter, and they lived in Lowell for about 12 years; later they moved to the farm in Segwun, but about four years ago ill health forced them to make other arrangements. Besides her husband, S. Jay, and brother and daughter mentioned above, Mrs. Carter leaves a sister, Mrs. Emma Yonkers, of Lake Odessa; a son Myron of Highland Park; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
