Ionia Standard, 14 Apr 1905

Charles Cartridge, one of Ionia’s favorite young men, died at his home at 5 
o’clock a.m., on April 4, after a short illness, of pneumonia.  He was born 
Nov. 17, 1868.  He was the son of William and Elizabeth Cartridge.  He was 
married to Dora Underwood of Belding on March 28, 1894; two children were born 
to them, one of whom is living.  He leaves a wife and one daughter, one 
brother, and two sisters: Mr. J. Cartridge of Belding, Mrs. J. Bunderson of 
Ionia, Mrs. J. Erridge of McBrides, besides many relatives and hosts of warm 
friends to mourn his untimely death.

The funeral was held from the house near Prairie Creek, on Thursday, at 2:30.  
The pallbearers were Bert Frost, George Pettengill, Bert Kanouse and Harvey 
Jackson.  The services were conducted by Rev. W. B. Taylor.  Interment in 
Highland Park.
