Rites on Monday For Local Nonagenarian

Diana A. Rose was born June 6, 1856, and was married to John Cartridge March 28,
1874.  To this union was born three daughters and two sons, John Cartridge of
Belding, Lewis Cartridge of Cooks Corners, Mrs. Alta Hill of Fenton and Mrs.
Edna Wright of Orleans.  Hannah Belle Kanouse passed away at the age of 29
years.  There are 4 grandchildren, L. J. Wright and Juanita Petersen, Hubert
Hill and Dale Cartridge, also ten grandchildren, Jimmie and Penny Wright, Eugene
and Anita Petersen, Janet, Onalee, Diana and Pamela Hill, Virginia Spaulding,
Dale Cartridge, Jr., and one great great grandchild, Barbara Spaulding and one
brother, Wm. Rose of Ionia.  There are also several nieces and nephews.

She made her home with her daughter since the death of her husband.  She spent
three weeks in Ionia hospital with a fractured right hip and limb.  After that
she was cared for at the Shaffer home at Carson City.  She recovered
sufficiently to go around in a wheel chair until two weeks ago she was taken
down and although everything was done for her by her daughter, Mrs. Wright and
Mrs. Shaffer, she passed away Friday evening, Nov. 29 at the age of 91 years, 5
months and 13 days.

Funeral services were held at Fitzjohn’s funeral home Monday at 2:30 Rev. H. S.
Ellis officiating.  Burial was made in Belding cemetery.  Pall bearers were Hugh
Bigley, Palmer Hall, Ernie Robinson, Don Mercer, George Wiley and Art Clifford.
