The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, April 16, 1974


Mrs. Ruby E. Cary, 93, formerly of 187 ½ Main street, died Monday at Ionia 
Manor where she had been a patient the past three years.  Born February 26, 
1883 in Boston township, she was a daughter of Gibson and Phoebe Jones.  She 
was married to Samuel Y. Cary.  Her husband, one son and one daughter preceded 
her in death.

Mrs. Cary had been a resident of Saranac since 1937 and a member of the Free 
Methodist church of Saranac for 30 years.  Surviving are one son, Marion B. 
Cary of Saranac, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Morris-Roetman 
Funeral home with the Rev. Delmeter of Belding Methodist church officiating.  
Burial is to be in South Boston cemetery.  Members of her family will be at 
the funeral home to receive friends and relatives 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 
7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
