Belding Banner-News   Thursday June 7, 1934

Nora Viola, daughter of Eli and Esther Smith, was born January 2,1869 at Grattan 
and was united in marriage January 1, 1887 to Frederick Casner, who preceded her 
in death November 8, 1899. Born to this union were five children, of whom four 
remain. Smith, the youngest, preceded her in death March 15th, 1926. 

Surviving are Leon, of Clare; Lewis of Belding; Edgar, of Casnovia; Goldie 
Richmond, of Belding; five grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.

She passed away at the home of the daughter at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 
11 days.

                         The golden gates were opened,
                           A gentle voice said "come;"
                         And with farewells unspoken,
                           She calmly entered home.
