Catherine Cassel, 79, of Clearwater, Fla., died Feb. 21 in Clearwater.  She was 
born Aug. 15, 1905 in Ionia, the daughter of William and Harriet (Jaynes) 
Cassel.  She was an operator for the C&O Railroad.

She is survived by one brother, William Lester Cassel; one sister, Emma 
Halbisen of Charlotte and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Neller Funeral Home in Portland with the Rev. Fr. Martin 
Kurylowicz of St. Patricks Catholic Church officiating.  Burial was in Portland 
Cemetery.
