Portland – Donna K. Cassel, born Jan. 17, 1944, in Lansing, the daughter of
Kenneth and Maxine (Hummel) Stemler; died Feb. 21, 1998, at the age of 54.

Mrs. Cassel was a retired school bus driver for Portland Schools and a member of
V.F.W. Post No. 4090 Auxiliary.  Surviving are her husband, Clare; three
daughters, Robin Cox and Candice Cassel both of Portland, and Cassie (Luke)
Francis of Fremont; one son, Scott of Portland; five Grandchildren; her parents,
Kenneth and Maxine Stemler of Sunfield; four brothers, Richard Stemler of Ionia,
Douglas Stemler of Portland, Kenneth Stemler Jr. of Sunfield, and Robert Stemler
of Sheridan and one sister, Nancy (Mark) Thompson of Portland.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman
Co. Neller Chapel, 210 Bridge St., Portland, with the Rev. Scott K. Otis of
Portland United Methodist Church officiating.  Interment will follow in Portland
Cemetery, Portland.  The family will receive friends at the Chapel on Monday
from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.  Those desiring may leave contributions at the
Funeral Home in memory of Donna.
