The Ionia Standard, Friday, February 17, 1888
William Castel died Tuesday morning, Feb. 7th.  Brights disease; age 75 
years.  Funeral held Wednesday at the M. E. church, and in spite of the 
intense cold, cold weather, was largely attended.  Mr. Castel has been a 
resident of Bushnell upwards of 20 years, and was known for miles around as a 
very successful local lawyer or petty-fogger.  Always noted for giving good 
sensible advice, he was the means of settling a good many disputes without 
resorting to legal means; was always kind and accommodating, especially to the 
poor.  He will be greatly missed in a host of ways.
