The remains of Norman Castle, 60, who died on Thursday of last week at the U. of M. hospital at Ann Arbor, were brought to Portland and funeral services held at the Bandfield funeral home Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Young, of Berlin. Burial was made in Portland cemetery. Mr. Castle has been a resident of this vicinity for many years, for the past twenty years residing on a farm in Orange township. At practically the same hour death came to him his estranged wife, Mrs. Kathryn Castle, of Lyons, passed away at the Ionia hospital, where she was taken the day before severely ill from a stroke. Mrs. Castle’s first husband was Bert Setchfield, who with his brother Norman, was drowned in Lake Athabasca, near Collingwood, Alberta, in 1918, while fishing. The funeral for Mrs. Castle was held at the same hour and on the same day as that of her husband, the services being held at the home of Mrs. Anna Setchfield in Lyons.
