Born May 23, 1887, in Tipton, she was a daughter of Robert and Mary Seaman Pawson, and married Nathan Flanders in Sumner, June 12, 1905. The couple moved to Ionia where he build the present home and preceded her in death November 15, 1935. She married Fred Castle February 19, 1945, in Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death in January 1971. For many years, Mrs. Castle had been employed as a cook in the kitchen at the Muir school. She was a member of the Minnie Howard club. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Hummel of Ionia, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Willis and Russell, also preceded her in death. The body is at Leddick funeral home where friends and relatives may call Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 o’clock. Services will be at 2 p.m. April 5 from the funeral home, the Rev. Gilbert Kohler of First Baptist church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom cemetery.
