Ionia Sentinel Standard - Oct.-2011


Joan E. “June” Castle, 84, of Ionia passed away on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 with 
her family. She was born on Dec. 16, 1926 in Chicago, the daughter of Henry and 
Evelyn (McNaughton) Cameron.

Mrs. Castle worked for the Department of Social Services for over 30 years as a 
Supervisor. June enjoyed her grandchildren, golfing and her pets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LaMar in 2010; grandson, Aaron Nash; 
her parents; sisters Rose Hurlbut, Jane Cameron and Tink (Rita) Pant.

Surviving are her son-in-law and daughter, Duane and Chris Nash of Ionia; two 
grandchildren, Sara (Michael) Serne of Ada and Adam (Jennifer) Nash of 
Independence, Ky.; niece, Dal Onan (Randy Barnes); nephew, Jim (Kathy) Davis; 
and friend Pat Haskins.

A private family memorial service will be held. 

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia County 
Animal Shelter.
