Marion A. Castle, 78, of Lyons died Tuesday at 4:30 a.m. at his home after a 
week’s illness.  Mr. Castle was born September 30, 1876 in Berlin township, 
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Castle.  He had lived his entire life in Ionia 
county, had worked in the Pere Marquette car shops for about 15 years before 
farming for a time.  He was married to Nellie Nichols in December 1904.  They 
moved to Lyons in 1942.

Survivors besides his wife Nellie are one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Butler of 
Saranac, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one son, Henry 
Castle of South Ionia.  

Funeral services will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home Thursday afternoon at 
2:30 o’clock.  Burial will be at Balcom cemetery.

Funeral services for Marion A. Castle of Lyons were held Thursday afternoon at 
2:30 at Stone-Kauffman funeral home .  The Rev. Lewis Horn officiated and 
interment was at Balcom cemetery.  Pallbearers were Henry Castle Jr., Lamar 
Castle, Floyd Castle, Donald Castle, Clarence Castle and Ralph Kellogg.

Those attending from out of town were Mrs. Bertha Butler, William Vandercoy, 
Shirley Smith, Vada Willette, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robson, Emma Woodard and 
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gunther of Saranac, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Castle, Mr. and 
Mrs. Vern Winright, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Haight, Mrs. Amy Castle, Mrs. Albert 
Heth, Mrs. Meriam Hancock, Mrs. Ella Hancock, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ockert, Mrs. 
Emma Hancock and Mrs. Calvin Castle of Lyons, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Castle of 
Plymouth, Mrs. Blanche Castle, Kenneth Snyder, Allie Snyder, Floyd Castle, 
Clarence Castle and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Castle of Howard City, Miss Hattie 
Nichols and Miss Ella Nichols of Alma, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hoxie of Lansing, 
Harvey Feather of Belding, Mrs. Alberta Higbee, Mrs. and Mrs. Ira Webster and 
Mrs. and Mrs. Stanton Priest of Muskegon and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Eckley of 
Muir.
