Lake Odessa Wave
          CHALMER CASWELL 61 PASSED AWAY FRIDAY
   Chalmer Caswell, 61, of Ionia and former Lake Odessa resident, passed away Friday
evening at Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids.  He had been in ill health for about three 
months and had been a patient at the hospital for eleven days.  He was the son of William 
and Mary Leak Caswell and was born in Sebewa.  A resident of Ionia about 14 years he was 
at one time a chauffer for the late Fred Chapman and Gov. Fred Green, and at the time of 
his illness was employed by the Caswell Co, in Ionia.
   Surviving are three sons, Jack of Stanton, Billy and Richard of Sheridan;  a
daughter, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Bracey of Sheridan;  seven grandchildren and his 96 year 
old father, William of Lake Odessa.
   Funeral services were held on Tureday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens funeral chapel
with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. F. Fitch officiated.
