Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 5 Apr 1947

Funeral services were conducted Saturday from the Mulliken Methodist church, 
for James Catlin, 80, who died Wednesday at his home at Mulliken, route 1.

Burial was at the East Plains church and Masonic services were given at the 
grave.

Mr. Catlin was born October 10, 1866, at Clinton and had lived in the vicinity 
of Mulliken for about 21 years.  Surviving are the wife; four sons, Forrest of 
Mulliken, Ferris of Detroit, Arlo of Six Lakes, and Jack of Mulliken; three 
daughters, Mrs. Charles Daniels of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Joe Piercefield of 
Portland, and Mrs. George Hildreth of Sunfield; 31 grandchildren and three 
great grandchildren.
