George Catt, 76, well known retired farmer, who has been a resident of Lake Odessa for many years, died at Pennock hospital at Hastings on Monday morning, following an acute attack of strangulated hernia. He underwent an operation the latter part of last week. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon and interment was made at Lakeside cemetery. Mr. Catt was first attacked with the ailment at his farm which he had been visiting, near the city. He walked from there to his home before medical assistance was obtained. He was then sent to the Hastings hospital, where an operation was imperative. He is survived by his widow and two children, Orin Catt, of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Frank McDonald of Odessa township, who reside on the old farm. Mr. Catt did much in pioneering in this vicinity and aided in clearing the land where his farm was located.
