The Lake Odessa Wave & Times, Thursday, November 4, 1943

Nancy Jane Herron, daughter of Israel and Permelia Herron was born in Perry 
county, Ohio, on July 3, 1853, and departed this life on October 31, 1943, at 
the home of her son in Lake Odessa at the age of 90 years, three months, 28 
days.

She came to Michigan with her parents in 1868, settling in Campbell township 
where she spent several years.  On January 16, 1881 she was united in marriage 
to George Catt, settling in Odessa township where they lived 35 years before 
moving to Lake Odessa where she spent the remaining years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in September 1925.  Surviving are two 
daughters, Ida Catt and Mrs. Vertie McDonald, one son Orvin, all of Lake 
Odessa, one sister, Mrs. Maggie Darby of Clarksville, three grandchildren and 
two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the United Brethren church for many years, later joining 
the Methodist church.
