(Brandt) Catt, age 73, of Clarksville passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Spectrum Butterworth Campus as the result of a car accident. She was born on February 23, 1940 to Robert and Florence (Morlok) Brandt in Portland. Elaine graduated from Saranac High School in 1958. She was employed at the Chrysler Corporation for a number of years. Elaine was known for her drawing talent having won awards at the Ionia Free Fair. She also had attended The Kendall School of Art & Design in Grand Rapids. She was a familiar face around the Clarksville area attending community events as well as the weekly senior citizens luncheons. Elaine loved traveling to art and craft shows as well as fairs and carnivals all over Michigan, she also loved the Upper Peninsula and spent many a summer there with her family. She was "Annie" to her nieces and when younger, took them on trips with her that always turned out to be quite an adventure of memories for them. You never saw Elaine go too long without a pet and was often seen with her dog Ziggy riding as her passenger looking like "Marmaduke" in the front seat. He was her constant companion. Elaine will be remembered by some of her intuitive nature. She will be dearly missed by daughter, Malinda (Chad) Steinhilber, Mansfield, OH, sister, Shirley Stahl, Hastings; nephew, Brian (Jen) Stahl, Clarksville; nieces, Sherry (Ron) Klein, Lake Odessa, Kris (Brian England, Middleville; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and co-pilot dog Ziggy. Preceding her in death are her parents and special niece Kelly (Bob) Tingley. A memorial celebration of Elaine's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Barry County Humane Society or Ionia County Humane Society.
