Claud G. Cave, 79, a former Lake Odessa resident, died Tuesday morning at
Veterans’ hospital in Miami, Fla., following an extended illness.  Born July 16,
1893, in Odessa township he was the son of Edward and Ella Hummel Cave.  As a
small child he moved to Lowell and after a short time returned to Lake Odessa
where he resided most of his life.

He was a contractor and repair shop owner in Lake Odessa, veteran of World War
I, member of IOOF and LaVerne Demaray American Legion post of Lake Odessa.

Surviving are his wife, Verdie; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kenneth Bulling of
Vermontville and Mrs. Maurice Stevens of Grand Rapids; several step
grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Dale Hynes of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake
Odessa.  Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
