Rosalyn Abigail (Curtiss) Chadwick died peacefully at her home with her family 
surrounding her on May 3, 2003.  She was born October 8, 1918 in Ann Arbor, 
the daughter of Gilbert J. and Mary (Adgate)Curtiss.  She married Warren R. 
Chadwick on May 22, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2001.

A 1935 graduate of Saranac High School, Rosalyn also graduated from Eastern 
Michigan University in 1965.  She taught country schools prior to her marriage 
and while her husband was in the service during World War II.  After their 
five children were born, she returned to teach at Ware School and Saranac 
Community Schools, retiring in 1976 after 27 years in education.  She was 
member of Saranac Community Church where she directed youth choirs for many 
years.

Rosalyn is survived by sons, Curtis (Shirley) Chadwick and Bruce (Margaret) 
Chadwick of Saranac; daughter, Mary (Rob Bentz of Alaska, Nora (Jim) Ruder of 
Grand Rapids and Beth (Brien) Simpson of Saranac; brother-in-law, Raymond 
Chadwick of Saranac, sister-in-law, Frances Hauter of Saranac; 18 
grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She 
was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Addie (David) Curtiss, and 
sister Maryon Grieves.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saranac Community Church with Rev. 
James Frank and Scott Chadwick officiating.  Friends may call on the family at 
Lake Funeral Home in Saranac from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m. Monday.  Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to Saranac 
Community schools music program or Saranac Community Church.
