Sentinel-Std. - Monday, July 3, 1961

Mrs. Margaret Chadwick, 81, resident of Ionia for the past 62 years, died at 
4 o'clock Monday morning in St. Lawrence hospital, Lansing. She was a 
patient two days.

Born November 12, 1879, in New York state, she was the daughter of Frank and 
Hattie Prichard Velis. She was married in 1899 to Herman Schlosser of Ionia, 
who died in 1934. In 1940 she married George Chadwick, he died in 1955.

Mrs. Chadwick was one of 14 children. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. 
Mary Gresco of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Rose Smith of St. Louis, Mrs. Ella Duffy 
and Mrs. Grace Scheible of Ionia; two brothers, Roy Velia of Breckenridge 
and Archie of Ionia; 30 nieces and nephews and one step-son, Lyle Chadwick 
of Flushing.

Mrs. Chadwick was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church where services will 
be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rosary 
will be recited at the home, 857 West Washington street, Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are by Boynton funeral home.
