Ionia Sentinel – 25 August 1971
Mrs. Winifred V. Chambers, 80, formerly of 301 East Main died late Tuesday 
evening at Ionia Manor where she had been the past two years.  Born in 
Michigan, November 12, 1890, she was the daughter of Ariel and Harriett Bass 
Wrisley.  She was married in Grand Rapids to Frank E. Chambers, who died 
October 31, 1969.  They had lived in Grand Rapids, Montcalm County and on a 
farm near Palo before coming to Ionia 22 years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Hitchcock and Mrs. Clayton McNaughton 
of Jackson; two sons, Max of Lansing and Russell of Fenwick; 14 grandchildren; 
18 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Baker of rural Ionia.  
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 pm at Stone-Kauffman funeral home.  
Rev. Theodore Forbes will officiate and interment will be at Palo cemetery.  
Family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
