Chambers died at 9:30 on Sunday morning, after several weeks painful illness. Deceased was born in Franklin county, N.Y. Feb., 1837. He was married Dec. 10, 1863, to Miss Corintha Wilbur. Two or three years later they moved from New York to the farm in Ionia township, five miles north east of this city, which was their home for many years. In February, 1890, Mr. Chambers slipped and fell, striking on his hip, and severely injuring him. He never entirely recovered from the effects. Owing partly to this accident, and partly to the desire to give his children better educational facilities, they moved into the city in the fall of same year, and have since been residents here. He was a man of quiet habits, industrious and honest, a good neighbor and a good citizen, devoted to his family, and honored and respected by all who knew him. He has been a faithful member of the Disciples church for thirty years, guiding his life according to the precepts of his faith. Funeral at Church of Christ, and 1:30 p.m., Tuesday. Interment Highland Park. Friends desiring to view remains can do so from 9 to 11 Tuesday morning. ------------ Let all members of Ruggles Hive, No. 280, attend the funeral of our sister’s husband, Charles Chambers, at the Church of Christ, tomorrow afternoon.
