Dennis Russell Chambers, age 72, of Lyons, passed away on Thursday evening, Oct.
15, 2015, at Spectrum Health, Blodgett Campus in East Grand Rapids.  He was born
in Ionia, Michigan, on Sept. 2, 1943.  His parents, Fred and Lucille (Otto)
Meyers, both preceded him in death.

Dennis graduated from Lyons High School and worked for more than 20 years as a
Corrections Officer with the State of Michigan at Ionia area prisons.  He
retired about 20 years ago to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle.  He was a member
of the Ionia Moose Lodge and enjoyed watching television.  He lived in Hawaii
for several years and loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, having owned several of
them.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Scott A. (Sharon) Chambers of
Lyons, Aimee (Joe) Scheurer of Ionia and Mark (Rhonda) Chambers of Muir; seven
grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Ina) Chambers
of North Carolina and Boyd (Barb) Meyers of Ionia; and several nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a
brother, Edwin “Spike” Chambers.

Per Dennis’ wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and no services are being
planned.  Those considering an expression of sympathy are welcomed to consider a
memorial contribution in Dennis’ memory to the Ionia County Humane Society, the
Hospice of the donor’s choice or the Ionia Moose Lodge.  For additional
