The Ionia Daily Standard, Monday, January 23, 1899


The funeral services of Samuel L. Champlain were held at 8:15 last evening 
from the Dexter house and were very largely attended.  The Episcopal service 
was used, Rev. W. H. Thomas, D.D. officiating.  Mr. L. E. Champlain, son of 
the deceased, accompanied the remains this morning to Ypsilanti where they 
will be interred.
