Lake Odessa Wave - Thurs. March 13, 1947

Mrs. J. Champlin Died Tuesday A.M.
Mrs. Ella V. Champlin, 77, died at Pennock hospital Tuesday forenoon, where she 
had been a patient for several weeks following a long period of ill health.

She was born October 13,1869, in Odessa township and married Horace Champlin 56 
years ago January 31. They had resided in Grand Rapids for 2 years where she was 
employed as saleslady at the Bon Marche shop before coming to Lake Odessa about 
15 years ago. She was a member of First Evangelical United Brethren church.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs.Guy Strickland at Mason, one son 
Howard E Champlin at Plainwell, one brother William Shumway in Grand Rapids, 
three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at the Pickens Funeral Chapel Friday at 2 with 
burial in Lakeside cemetery, the Rev. E.A. Shull officiating.
