Mrs. Chapin was formerly a resident of Portland and a member of the Presbyterian Church, but for several years resided in Ionia. Her husband was interred in the Portland cemetery some 14 years ago, whither her remains were brought for burial; on Monday of this week. The funeral services were attended in Ionia by the Rev. Pierson, D.D. of the Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Hamilton, of the M.E. Church. The concluding services in Portland were conducted by the Rev. G.W. Bothwell. Her brother, Mr. Cadwell, of Ionia, and two nephews, Mr. Cadwells of Muir and Lyons, one of whom was formerly engaged in business here, with other friends, accompanied the remains to the place of burial.
