GARLAND "GAR" JEFFREY LEE CHAPKO
Garland "Gar" Jeffrey Lee Chapko, age 29 of Ionia, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 15,
2016. He was born Sept. 10, 1987 in Lansing, the son of Jeffrey L. Chapko and Garla
R. (Morgan) Camarillo. He completed his early education at SS. Peter and Paul before 
attending Ionia High School where he graduated class of 2005. Gar Attended Lansing 
Community College for three years.

His friends called him Gar. Gar loved his animals and was a huge sports fan who
loved football,  especially the Detroit Lions, He enjoyed gaming with his friends. Gar was
known for his bright blue eyes, his huge smile, his big heart, and great big hugs. He will
be greatly missed by his family and many special friends.

Surviving are his father Jeffrey L. Chapko of Orleans; mother GarlaRr. (David)
Camarillo of Dayton, Tennessee; sisters Jessica Chapko of Atlanta, Georgia, Jillian Chapko of
Ionia, Shelby Chapko of Denver, Colorado and Meghan Chapko of Orleans, along with Jeff and
Tiffany Kohn of Sheridan, Michigan; grandparents Barbara Morgan of Ionia and Garland
Morgan of Tennessee; special Aunt JoAnna Chapko of Lansing who always made him 
special birthday cakes. Angela Dwyer of Ionia, Katie and Alex (Dwyer) Crespo and
Kayla Dwyer of Ionia; several aunts, uncles, cousins and his special nephew Walker Reed
Smith.

Gar was preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph and Rita Chapko of Owosso,
great-grandmother Mary (May) Kerr and cousin James Engle of Battle Creek.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Lake
Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday 5-8
p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Gar be
made to the Ionia County Animal Shelter. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to
