Ionia Daily Sentinel, 2 Jan 1911

The funeral for Dan Chapman was attended this morning from the undertaking rooms
of Chas. H. Bradley.  The funeral was taken charge of by Will Chapman, a son who
was located in Grand Rapids Saturday night, after search for him had practically
been given up.  He was supposed to be somewhere in California but it later
developed that he was traveling out of Chicago by a large concern there and when
they were notified word was sent to him at Grand Rapids.  He came from there
here at once and took charge of the funeral arrangements.

[Transcriber’s note:  There are notations on the obituary card that he was born
in Vermont in 1832 the son of Willard and Lucinda (Patterson) Chapman, and that
he was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.]
