Yvonne M. Chapman, 53, of Lyons, passed away on Friday afternoon at home in 
Lyons surrounded by her loving family and dear friends following a brave fight 
with cancer. She was born on Aug. 24, 1958, in Lakeview, daughter of Frederick 
and Lois (DeHaan) Chapman. 

Yvonne graduated from Ionia High School and worked for several years at Ventra 
Manufacturing in Ionia. She enjoyed working with her hands resulting in 
beautiful gardens for family, friends and neighbors to enjoy. She was not 
afraid to take on big jobs such as remodeling a single room or an entire house. 
She enjoyed the outdoors and all animals. She would help any dog, cat or other 
animal that needed assistance, and gave generously to any and all charities 
that cared for animals or fought for animal rights. She was a great friend to 
many and truly enjoyed the company of others.

Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory a son, Ryan (Shannda Ray) Babcock of Ionia; 
a sister, Vicki Goodman of Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandchildren, Brook'l 
Miller and Kennedi Taylor Babcock; an aunt, Marcia Emmons; a nephew, Levi 
Goodman; two cousins, Lynn and Heather; and many dear friends including special 
friends Sharon Hoppough-Ward, Karen Hoppough, Gay Ann Cupps, Diane Wheeler and 
Tom Shattuck; and her boxers, Buddy and Cruz.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred; an uncle, Jon 
Wenger; a niece, Ashton Goodman; and a dear friend, Terri Snell.

Yvonne's immediate family and friends will memorialize her life privately.
