Helen A. Chapman, 83, of Ionia passed away Nov. 15, 2013, in Lansing.  She was 
born June 11, 1930, in Muir, the daughter of Lewis and Alice (Holcomb) Lowery.  
Helen married Clifford Chapman April 23, 1953.  She enjoyed puzzle books and 
playing bingo.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Clifford Chapman of Ionia; 
children, Clayton Chapman of Ionia, Christopher Chapman of Ionia, Calvin 
Chapman of Ionia, Clifford Chapman of Grand Rapids, Carol (Doug) Houghton of 
Stanton, Craig (Barbara) Chapman of Belding, Colin Chapman of Clarksville, 
Carla (Stephen) Teitelman of Ionia and Clint Chapman of Ionia; brother, Tom 
Lowery of Muir; sisters, Frances Wandel of Muir, Jean Badder of Ionia, Edith 
(Gary) Bennett of Muir and Beatrice Kimbell of Wyoming; 14 grandchildren and 10 
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Louis Lowery Jr., Kenneth 
Lowery and Johnny Lowery; sister, Ruth Weber; and one grandson, Christopher.

A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at 215 
S. Jefferson St., Ionia, MI 48846. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
