Joyce Irene Charles, 76, of Ionia, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011. She 
was born on Oct. 5, 1934 in Lansing, the daughter of Myron and Avis Zumsteg.

Joyce enjoyed sewing, cooking and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph in 2001; and a 
brother, Fred Zumsteg.

Surviving are sons, Mike (Shiela) Charles, Fred (Gabriele) Charles and Ron 
(Nancy) Charles; grandchildren, Eric (Wendy), Brian, Aimee, Jamie, Tara, Mike 
II (Brenda) and Rianna; nine great grandchildren. 

The Memorial Services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at 
the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St. Ionia. The family will receive 
friends one hour prior to the service.
