Belding Banner – Wednesday, 18 February 1920
Charles Adelbert Drake, aged 60 years died at his home on Ruby Street Tuesday 
morning at four o’clock following a lingering illness caused by cancer of the 
liver to which was later added jaundice, the complication causing his death.  
Mr. Drake was a familiar and well known figure round the city and was an 
expert landscape gardener and took especial pride in grading lawns and the 
like.  He leaves his widow and a half sister, Mrs. Geo. Shuman, of 
Laingsburg.  Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the house.  
Rev. P. Ray Norton officiating and interment will be in the old cemetery.
