Raymond Ernest Chartrand was born Feb. 25, 1925 in Saginaw, the son of the late Ernest and Mary Chartrand. He married Nancy Kniebbe Oct. 5, 1968; she predeceased him in 1998. Raymond served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Surviving are a daughter, Jody (Adam) Rewa of Ionia; three stepchildren, Katherine Briguglio of Saginaw, Brant Bueche of Bay City and David Bueche of San Francisco; four grandchildren; a sister, Joan Fehn of Saginaw; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2711 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Fr. Patrick O’Connor will officiate with burial in Mount Olivet cemetery. Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. where friends will meet at 7:30 p.m. for a vigil service the Rosary will be prayed following the vigil, and then at 10 a.m. until time of services, Saturday at the church.
