Ionia Standard, 20 Dec 1889

John Chase, an old and much respected citizen of Lyons, died very suddenly last 
Sabbath of heart disease.  Mr. Chase was a member of Dresser Post, G.A.R., and 
was buried under the auspices of that order.  Funeral services were held at the 
Baptist church, Tuesday, Rev. W. T. Woodhouse officiating.  The remains were 
buried in the beautiful cemetery east of town.

[Transcriber's Note: There is a notation on the obituary card that he is buried 
in Lyons Cemetery.]
